Crate Lounge Chair + Folding Cushion [Ex-display]

Initially designed in 1934 by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld to make use of surplus wooden shipping crates, the Crate Collection has been relaunched through a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration. Respecting the original design, the Crate Lounge Chair features precisely balanced proportions and a transparent construction that simplifies production and optimises assembly. Its low proportions, gently sloping back and seat, and supportive armrests provide comfort while maintaining a light, spatial appearance. Made from solid pine with a water-based lacquered finish in London Fog, the Crate Lounge Chair is suitable for a wide range of outdoor settings and can be complemented with an optional seat cushion in selected textiles for extra comfort.
